Follow these steps to update your logo using the Astra theme and the WordPress Customizer.

Step 1: Log in to Your WordPress Dashboard

  1. Open your web browser and go to the login page for your WordPress site (e.g., www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin).
  2. Enter your username and password, then click Log In.

Step 2: Open the WordPress Customizer

  1. Once logged in, on the left-hand sidebar, navigate to Appearance > Customize.
This will open the WordPress Customizer, which allows you to make changes to the look of your site in real-time.

Step 3: Access the Site Identity Settings

  1. In the Customizer, find the Site Identity section.
    • If you’re using the Astra theme, you can find this under Appearance > Customize > Header Builder > Site Identity.
    • Here, you can change your site’s title, tagline, and most importantly, the logo.

Step 4: Upload a New Logo

  1. In the Site Identity section, click on the Select Logo button.
  2. This will open the WordPress Media Library. From here, you can either:
    • Select an existing logo from your media library.
    • Upload a new logo by clicking the Upload Files tab, then dragging and dropping your logo or selecting it from your computer.
  3. After uploading, you’ll have the option to crop your image. WordPress will guide you through this process, or you can skip cropping if your image is already sized correctly.

Step 5: Adjust Logo Size (Optional)

  1. After you’ve uploaded the logo, scroll down to find the Logo Width slider.
This allows you to resize your logo to fit your header layout better.
    • Astra gives you full control to adjust the size of your logo within the header.

Step 6: Add a Retina Logo (Optional)

  1. If you have a retina logo (typically twice the size of your original logo for high-resolution screens), you can upload it here as well.
    • Click the Select Retina Logo button to upload your retina version. Ensure the image is exactly double the size of your standard logo.

Step 7: Publish Your Changes

  1. Once you’re satisfied with how the logo looks, click the Publish button at the top of the Customizer to save your changes.

Step 8: Clear Cache (if necessary)

  1. If you’re using a caching plugin like Breeze, you might not see your changes right away. Clear your cache by navigating to Breeze in your WordPress dashboard and selecting Clear Cache.

Tips for Spectra Plugin Users:

While the Spectra plugin is mainly used for creating beautiful page layouts with its blocks, it doesn’t directly affect the logo section. However, if you’re using Spectra’s header or block features, ensure that your logo placement works well with your overall design and doesn’t conflict with other header elements.

Note on Other Themes

If you’re using a theme other than Astra, the process for changing your logo may vary slightly or significantly. Different themes have their own unique layout and customizer options. If you encounter difficulties or cannot find the option to update your logo, the best approach is to check the theme’s documentation or contact the support team for that theme. They can provide specific guidance tailored to their theme’s setup.

That’s it! You’ve successfully changed your logo using the Astra theme and WordPress Customizer.
